What treatment options are available for PNH?1
There are many treatment options available for people with PNH. As you move forward, you and your healthcare team will develop a plan that’s best for you. The following approaches are most commonly used in PNH:
- Monoclonal antibody therapy:
The first and only approved medication to address hemolysis and its harmful effects in people with PNH
- Palliative therapy:
Include therapies that may ease the symptoms of PNH, such as transfusions, steroid hormones, androgen hormones, anticoagulants, and vitamin supplements
- Bone Marrow Transplantation:
Bone marrow transplantation (BMT) is currently the only curative therapy available for PNH. However, there are many risks associated with BMT, which your doctor can tell you more about
It is important to remember that the symptoms of PNH vary from patient to patient, and a plan to manage your PNH may work for you but may not work for someone else. This is why it is so important to discuss your treatment options with your doctor.
